CarrotLines is growing!

We are looking for an ambitious and passionate intern to support our current marketing efforts related to growing our digital media content. Based in Coal Harbour area, our office has an open environment with a fun and innovative culture! Intern will gain experience in the mobile start-up sector and play an important role in marketing our Health & Fitness App!

This is an ideal position for a student in communications, marketing or business. You must have some marketing experience, have allocated time to do this, and demonstrated writing skills.

Average of 10 hours per week required for 8 weeks required.

Tasks will include:

-Writing/Editing blog posts
-Research related content and events
-Coordinating email campaigns
-Support with social media initiatives
-Other marketing related tasks

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

*Be enrolled/graduated business degree preferably marketing or communications
*Be able to work independently
*Have lots of energy and a “can do” attitude
*Experience in at least 2 of: blog writing, social media, advertising, market research

DTES Kitchen Tables Project is a community based Food Action Plan to reform the current unsustainable charitable food system. Co-founded by Potluck Cafe Society and DTES Neighbourhood House, the project’s goal is increase the health of the neighbourhood by making available healthy and tasty food to Downtown Eastside residents, especially for the most nutritionally vulnerable, in a dignified manner.

CarrotLines, the app to help you better your food diet, was at the 21st annual Victoria Health Show this past weekend. It was a huge success to say the least. The turnout was phenomenal, reaching over 10 000 attendees.

The wide variety of exhibitors and increased awareness of the show brought in an eclectic crowd ranging from the young to the elderly, men and women alike. The curious crowd loved the CarrotLines app – hear what one of our new fans has to say:

Fans enjoyed Nature’s Path Sunny Hemp Granola Bars, Optimum Blueberry Cinnamon Cereal, and Crunchy Sunrise Maple Cereal. If you didn’t already know, Nature’s Path has a wide selection of gluten-free options, including the Crunchy Sunrise Maple Cereal.

New World Natural Foods Bliss Balls were also a huge hit. These little balls of chocolate, fruit, and nut goodness are gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-less. Who knew something so delicious could also be wholesome for your body!

The expo brought in over 3000 attendees during the 5 hour event. Within the first two hours, the Vancouver Food Bank had collected one tonne of food from entrance donations – what an amazing sight to see!

CarrotLines was there with Gold Sponsor Martin’s Marvelous, who had a packed booth and quickly ran out of product! With crisps and granola that anybody can enjoy, attendees were willing to wait until Martin (yes, he is real) came to the rescue with more boxes to meet demand.

We loved that Udi’s Gluten Free was grilling up vegan cheese sandwiches! Made with Daiya Cheese and AlfaOne rice bran oil, the sandwich was a vegan, gluten-free, and lactose-free heaven!

The Gluten-Free Expo was not only fun, but a fantastic way for foodies of all kinds to learn more about leading a gluten-free lifestyle, taste delicious food, and buy products at a great price! With the first year such a hit, there is much to look forward to next year.
